담배꽁초의 애환

 

우리 이렇게 남아 있다

쓰레기와 재에 섞여

이리저리 버려진 채

 

우리가 무슨 죄가 있느냐

불에 태워지고 짓밟혀

이렇게 버려지다니

 

그들은 또 무슨 죄가 있으랴

삶의 애환을 한 모금 담배로

잠시나마 위안을 얻고자 한 뿐이니

 

그들에게 잠시 위안을 주고

소멸되어 흙으로 돌아간다니

 

비록 서글픈 마음은 들지만

이 또한 의미 있는 생이 아닐까?

We remain like this—

mixed with trash and ash,

discarded without care.

 

What fault is ours

to be burned, stepped on, thrown away?

 

And what fault is theirs?

They sought a brief moment of solace

in one breath of smoke.

 

If we offered that comfort

and returned quietly to the earth,

 

then even in sorrow,

perhaps our life held meaning.

이 시는 버려진 사물에 인간의 감정을 투영한 작품으로,

태워지고 버려진 담배꽁초를 통해 삶의 애환·소모감·잠시의 위안이라는 주제를 조용히 비춥니다.

사소한 존재조차 누군가의 마음을 잠깐이라도 지탱했다면, 그 흔적 자체가 삶의 의미가 될 수 있다는 메시지를 담았습니다.

작은 물건을 관찰하며 인간의 연약함, 삶의 덧없음, 그리고 잠깐의 위안이 얼마나 소중한지를 돌아보게 합니다.
